Back On Kinder Again – A Milestone For Tilly

The last time Tilly was on Kinder was back in January, camping out at Mermaids Pool, along with James and Reuben. Only about a fortnight after that, she suddenly had a serious relapse with a spinal problem that had surfaced a year ago. So serious, in fact, that for a few days we really thought we were going to lose her.

Luckily, we not only have someย amazing vets near us, Tilly also has a personal Orthopaedic Surgeon (yes, really!) at a specialist centre over near Chester, and between them they have got her moving again, making slow but steady progress over the last few months.

She is now on three different drugs every day (Metacam, Gabapentin and Tramadol) – and will be for the rest of her life – but hey, she’s happy and mobile, so that’s fine by us.

The last couple of weeks in particular have seen her coming on in leaps and bounds, so since the weather was so nice today we made a last minute decision this morning to see if she might enjoy (and cope with) a bounce around Kinder.

She had great fun and when we think what she was like back in January,ย it feels like a real milestone in her recovery.

  1. That must have been so worrying. Wish Tilly all the best. Fantastic photos.

  2. Can I hire her personal orthopaedic surgeon? I’m having shocking trouble with my right leg and it’s stopping me doing anything! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Glad she’s feeling better and bouncier anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

What a relief that must be! Here’s to many more outings.

Glad to hear she’s on the mend. That’s quite a cocktail of medication she’s got herself.

  5. Glad to hear that Tilly is on the hills again – my favourite bit of the Peak District as well.

I had no idea it was that serious, must have been such a bad time, especially after Dixie’s passing. Good to see her bouncing again ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Yes unfortunately, there was a really bad point where she could hardly move at all – not even change position in bed – without screaming in agony. Hopefully that is all now behind us ๐Ÿ™‚
