As we are rapidly approaching the supposedly cold and snowy part of the year, I thought I’d re-advertise our Mountain Equipment Lightline Down jackets, that are now too large for us.
They are both size large. One is navy, one is red. They weigh about 860g each so are not ideal for backpacking, but are perfect for general use in very cold weather. They have not seen massively heavy usage, but are a few years old and therefore are not the current model you would get from Mountain Equipment. Back in 2008, we did take them to Canada over the Christmas period, when the temperature hardly ventured above -17C for the whole fortnight; they were very toasty.
We are pricing them at £50 each, plus £10 postage and packaging, making £60 in all. (I don’t teach maths for nothing, folks…….)
They both still look clean and in good condition, and if you are interested in purchasing one of the jackets, please get in touch either via this post or my Twitter account, and I will get back to you.
Unfortunately, I’m busy losing a lot of weight just now too – not that I couldn’t stand to lose some – just the method. I’ve gone and got ‘flu despite having a flu jab in the Autumn 😦

‘Flu is definitely not the nicest way to lose weight. Have to admit I haven’t had ‘flu since I started having flu jabs about 15 years ago. When I was in my thirties I came down with glandular fever and was pretty poorly – in fact I was off work for 3 months. It seemed to affect my immune system too, and for several years after that I got proper ‘flu every winter, until the GP finally decided he would give me a ‘flu jab!
Hope you’re feeling better soon, but take care of yourself ’cause it takes a while to build your strength up again. 🙂

I had the jab this year – as every year – I have to have it with being asthmatic (officially – doesn’t usually affect me nowadays). But this year they must have got it wrong I think…
I want to get back to work by the start of my shifts on Fri night though as I’ve arranged for the management to buy us free food! 😉

Now free food’s certainly worth getting back for – especially if it involves cake…..

Unfortunately it’s just savoury – but free food generally gets me to attend things 😉
