Chrissie, really good set of photos. A great area to walk, it is one of my favorites. What was the weather like on Saturday? We had 15 hours of rain in Keswick !

Sorry to hear you had so much rain in Keswick! We had showers – some heavy – on the Saturday morning, but the afternoon was dry so we had a short wander then. Sunday and today though (I don’t work Mondays, we only got back a few hours ago), were warm and rather spring like – very pleasant in fact!
Absolutely love that photo of the 2 cows (or bullocks) ‘having a chat’ 😉 Also great photos of Malham Cove. I might head there in the next day or so myself – still trying to get my legs properly fit and still struggling a bit.
I have to say that I certainly found it a long, hard haul trying to get fit again after the old broken fibula incident, so good luck there!
The cow photo is quite nice, isn’t it? It’s one of Geoff’s actually…….as is the ‘lamb’ one……. 😉

Are they ruffwear shoes on Dixies paws? Having massive dysplacea/arthrities issues with Henry and trying to find out what would make his pain more manageable. If they are doggie boots (we are currently working with traction socks and they’re not as good as we had initially hoped, have tonight layered on a second coat of plumber’s silicone, am hoping the traction will improve massively) then I would be interested to hear a ruffwear review – are they worth buying? £50+ seems a lot to invest if the product ends up being inadequate…..
PS: looks like a fabulous weekend was had by all ^_^

Hi Babs, I had to look back at the photos there to see where you might have seen the Ruffwear shoes…. but no, they’re not shoes, her paws are just covered in mud!
Incidentally I put a comment for you about Dixie’s arthritis and Tilly’s elbow dysplasia over on Paul’s blog earlier – daily metacam has worked nothing short of a miracle with Dixie, and an operation in January has had similar results with Tilly.
So I’m sorry, I can’t comment on the doggie boots!
It was a good weekend though. Dixie says she has to come home for a rest these days……
PS That handle on Dixie’s Ruffwear harness has been worth every penny though. If necessary now, she can simply be lifted over awkward ladder stiles etc! She says it’s a bit undignified mind….

Malham! I have some very fond memories of walks around there. Malham > Janets Foss > Goredale Scar > Malham Tarn > Malham Cove is a classic. Also had some nice times drinking beer in the village and of one infamous football game on the green
Sometimes you just feel like you’re playing catch-up with the blog, don’t you? I try and get posts out really quickly, but it doesn’t always go to plan.
We’ve been up Goredale Scar several times with various dogs, but decided Dixie was perhaps better off not struggling with that last weekend. It was very pleasant though exploring some more slightly ‘off the tourist route’ paths – very peaceful in fact!
I keep looking at that photo of Geoff outside the pub and wondering what he’d done with the dogs – they were definitely there somewhere!
I remember that match well. Even though it followed some ‘drinking beer in the village’. Haven’t been to Malham for too long. So many places to visit, so much bloody work to do!
Yep – I wrote a set of reports today in fact. We’ve switched to a comment bank system. No call now for any ability to string a few words together, just choose a few numbers from a list, like ordering a Chinese take-away – Miranda, ah yes, she’s 3, 17, 24, 47. Oh, and do you have prawn crackers?
We’re now doing away with loads of comments and instead giving a mark (1 – 5) for effort, and another (1 – 5) for attainment. Parents seem to like it – tells them everything they want to know…….
